Most of the batteries that were recycled in 2022 came from dealerships, such as replaced battery modules resulting from a drive-battery recall, for example. Batteries from electric vehicles that are involved in traffic accidents usually end up at car-dismantling companies, where the battery pack is then professionally removed from the vehicle by a trained dismantler.
ARN arranges the specialised transport of batteries and modules from car brands that are affiliated with the ARN collection system. And, of course, for the affiliated car-dismantling companies.
Batteries that can still be used in a stationary application, such as the storage of energy for example, can be given a second lease of life through a specialised company. Other batteries are sent to recycling companies, which then recover valuable raw materials from them.
